SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

About Memoria

Memoria is a service that helps event organizers collect voice, video, photo, and written memories from guests. Organizers add contacts to an event, and Memoria sends each contact a personalized invitation link by SMS on the organizer's behalf.

How consent is collected

Consent is collected from event organizers at the point of adding a contact. When the organizer creates an event and enters a contact's name and phone number, the following consent notice is displayed directly on the form, and the organizer must confirm they have permission from each contact before sending:

"By using Memoria, you agree to receive SMS and text messages from Memoria on behalf of event organizers. Maximum 3 messages per event. Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately. No marketing messages are sent."

The same consent language is displayed to recipients on the contribution page they land on after tapping the invitation link, before they submit any content.

Message content & frequency

Sample message

Hi [Name]! You're invited to share a memory for [Event]. Record a quick voice, video, photo or note here: [link]

Reply STOP to opt out.

Opt-out

Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Opt-outs are honored immediately and permanently for that phone number across all Memoria events. Replying HELP returns contact information for support.

Message & data rates

Standard message and data rates may apply based on the recipient's mobile carrier plan.

Privacy

Phone numbers submitted by organizers are used solely to deliver invitation messages for that event. Numbers are never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used to send promotional content.
